Leadon the Way in Timber Technology at Timber Expo 2012

We attended the first ever Timber Expo last year, so we knew this year’s event would be an unmissable opportunity to showcase Leadon Timber Frame to industry experts and enthusiasts. Timber Expo is the UK’s only timber industry dedicated event, attracting thousands of architects, designers, specifiers and contractors each year. On the 25th to 26th September 2012, the 6,000 m2 Jaguar Exhibition Halls in Coventry’s Ricoh Arena were transformed into a timber buyer’s paradise.

We made stand Z32 our stage, complete with custom designed banners and a flat screen TV. Our exhibit was popular throughout the two-day event, prompting plenty of questions and enquiries. We shared our knowledge of the most versatile and sustainable building material and showed photographs of different products, including our timber frame houses. As a result of the exhibit we had 12 business leads, many of which are likely to turn into opportunities in the near future.

Elsewhere at the event, around 200 other companies showcased the latest in timber design, technology and manufacture. Inspirational speakers hosted 40 hours of seminars, and scale models of the future of timber design and engineering were displayed in the TRADA Student Pavilion. One of the highlights was the invitation-only Wood Awards, where prestigious awards were given to innovative products from different industries.

Attending events like the Timber Expo is important for timber frame manufacturers like ourselves. As well as sharing our timber building success with potential customers and the press, such industry events help keep Leadon at the cutting edge of timber design.
