We have been designing and manufacturing wood web joist for three years now, we have seen a steady increase in demand for the product, especially in Social Housing and High End one off dwellings. The main advantage to open truss joist is its capacity to obtain greater clear spans over traditional solid joist and also allowing installation off pipe and ducting work with ease especially in today’s new buildings where Heat Recovery Units are now a standard item.

The second great advantage off wood web joist is ease of manufacturer but more important the use of cutting within the factory, as over 80% of timber used in wood joists is no longer than 800mm, this greatly reduces wastage not like other forms of engineered joist were they are supplied only in standard lengths where wood web joists are made to measure.
